J. Jeffery Nixon
ICP Founder and Managing Partner
Jeff is an attorney, investment banker and private investor/entrepreneur who has launched, financed and built over 30 technology companies over the past twenty years. Jeff is a registered General Securities Principal with Bridge Capital Advisors, Inc., a NASD registered broker/dealer where he holds Series 24, 7 and 63 licenses.
Jeff began his career working with big and small companies launching new ventures ranging from video-text, screen phones, Cable TV, interactive kiosks, speech recognition, CD-ROM publishing and Interactive TV. In July 1997, Jeff founded Interactive Capital Partners to focus primarily on companies that could leverage the coming dramatic shift to the Internet in communications and commerce for consumers and businesses.
Prior to founding Interactive Capital Partners, Jeff was a General Partner at Southport Partners, a leading high-tech investment banking boutique. As part of this activity, in the early 1990s, Jeff was the lead partner in assisting IBM with analyzing and executing venture capital investments in new consumer interactive services.
Prior to joining Southport Partners in 1987, Jeff was VP Business Development for Portel Services Network where he was responsible for developing strategic distribution and content relationships for a patented, low-cost interactive home banking, shopping and consumer information service developed by Hubert Schlafly, the acknowledged technical founder of the cable TV industry as founder of TelePrompTer.
Jeff graduated from Colgate University in 1981 and from Boston University School of Law in 1984.
Bruce Barnet

Bruce Barnet is Chairman of Quintess, Leading Residences of the World, a world renowned luxury destination club, and CEO of TripLife, a new internet networking tool for business travelers which makes business trips more productive and enjoyable. He has had a distinguished 30-year career as a senior media executive. Barnet spent 21 years at Time, Inc. where he was Publisher of Discover magazine and Fortune International; Head of Strategic Planning and Development; and President of Time, Inc. Magazines-Asia. He was CEO of Cowles Magazines, a large special interest publisher; and was CEO of Cahners Business Information, the largest trade publisher of business magazines in the U.S. He is also currently Chairman of Flying Rhinoceros, a children's media company; Vice-Chairman of Nanoholdings LLC, an early stage Nanotechnology fund; and a board member of TRA, a research company. Barnet is on the advisory boards of JEGI Capital, BZZAgent and the Global Gaming League.
Donald G. Springer
Venture Partner
Don Springer is a Venture Partner at Interactive Capital Partners and has over 20 years of experience in the media industry. He is a former executive with International Management Group (IMG), where he was responsible for client licensing and marketing, as well as broadcast client representation. Mr. Springer directed his career into mass traditional media and entertainment where he was Senior Vice President at Genesis Entertainment, a Los Angeles-based television production and distribution company, where he was responsible for launching over 10 television series into first run syndication. He has worked closely with a number of media companies as Consultant/Advisor in assisting with strategic planning, business development and capital raising efforts to support company growth. He worked closely with Steve Bornstein, the former CEO of ESPN, as an advisor in strategic planning and business development.
Mr. Springer played an active role in the growth of Guthy-Renker Corporation where he provided $25MM in financing with Ronald O. Perelman, allowing the company to execute its growth strategy enabling sales growth from $60MM annually to over $500MM in seven years. He provided similar services to MacAndrews & Forbes for its operating company, New World Communication Group. Here, Don developed and executed on acquisition strategies for the company's broadcast group, comprised of twelve VHF stations. His achievements include conversion of each from CBS to Fox Networks affiliation and development and distribution of programming for New World Entertainment. New World was then sold to News Corporation for $3.5B. For the past three years Mr. Springer has been active in a number of media and Internet investments and companies through his affiliation with Interactive Capital Partners, providing financial resources and business development through his various financial and media relationships.
Don lives in Los Angeles, but travels to New York frequently and is an avid golfer.
Douglas K. Mellinger
Venture Partner
Douglas K. Mellinger is Vice-Chairman and co-founder of Foundation Source. He is responsible for key aspects of the company's strategy and vision as well as the development of strategic alliance partnerships. Prior to assuming his full-time responsibilities with Foundation Source, Mr. Mellinger was a partner with Interactive Capital Partners (ICP), an investor and investment banker for early stage technology companies. Previously, he founded and served as CEO of Enherent (NASDAQ:ENHT), a global software development and services company. Enherent was listed as an Inc. 500 company twice and was featured on Deloitte & Touche's Technology Fast 500 and Fast 50 List.
Mr. Mellinger has a keen interest in community service directed toward youth, education and economic development. He has established a private foundation reflecting his strong personal commitment to improving the quality of teaching and enhancing career opportunities for the economically disadvantaged.
Mr. Mellinger was active on the campaign committee and the technology committee for Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk, CT. Additionally, he has served on a number of Advisory Boards to government agencies and universities. Currently, he is the Chairman of the National Commission on Entrepreneurship based in Washington, D.C., on the Board of The Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and is on the Advisory Board for the London Business School.
Mr. Mellinger has served as both the national and international director of the Association of Collegiate Entrepreneurs (ACE). The organization's scope encompassed students, professors, and young entrepreneurs from more than 300 universities in 76 countries. In addition, he helped found the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO), and served as its international president in 1997/98. He also holds membership in the Young Presidents' Organization (YPO).
Mr. Mellinger is a graduate of Syracuse University.
Terry Waters

Mr. Waters most recently was a senior executive with Gartner (NYSE: IT). Gartner is the leading provider of research, events and advisory services for the global information technology industry. Over the past five years, Gartner grew to be a $1.2B enterprise with operations in 70 countries around the world. Mr. Waters held several leadership roles, including Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for the company's global Marketing and Corporate Communications efforts and President of Gartner's Executive Programs business unit, the world's largest family of subscription based membership and executive education programs for senior IT leaders and business executives around the world. As Head of Executive Programs, he led the expansion of the business to over $140M in retained contract value and 3600 participating executives across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.
From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Waters was the COO for Pinnacor/ScreamingMedia (NASD: PCOR). Pinnacor was an internet based content aggregation, syndication and business services provider based in New York City. In this global role, he was a member of the Executive Committee that took the company public in August 2000, had full P&L responsibility and led the expansion of the business to over $25M in annual revenues with operations into North America, Latin America, Europe and Australia.
From 1985 to 1999, Mr. Waters spent 13 years with Gartner in a variety of senior sales, marketing and product leadership roles, including head of Eastern Region sales for North America and head of Worldwide Marketing. Over that time, Gartner grew from $10M to over $700M in annual revenues. In 1994, he developed and ran Gartner's highly successful IT Executive Program product. Over the next four years, Mr. Waters led the team that grew the membership to 1,000+ senior IT executives and $25M in revenues across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. The IT Executive Program offering became the foundation for Gartner's Executive Programs business.
Mr. Waters started his career with Xerox Corporation in 1981, where he spent four years in sales and field marketing, based in New York City.
